Correspondence, 1928-1930.

The collection contains both incoming and copies of outgoing correspondence of J.J. Sullivan from 1928-1930. Most of the correspondence concerns his activities advising various paper companies on procuring types of pulp and rag to be used in the mills or deciding which types of machines were best for their operations. Some of the letters concern an experimental paper drying machine developed by Proctor & Schwartz and in use at the Brown Co. in Berlin, N.H. Also included in the collection are letters concerning family matters, especially letters from Sullivan's son, Phil, who was working at the Lee Paper Co. in Vicksburg, Michigan. The collection also contains several drafts of a speech about a new method of resizing and drying paper given by Sullivan at an unidentified convention.
